I video recorded the class, but my 35mm camera batteries ran out too fast. I recorded the last part with a cell phone, but missed the middle section. The composite recording is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZfghaAznyU
Here are some highlights that Robert Brooks and Jay Davidson enlightened us with:
-Lagging: if yellow, on the second shot shoot short in the middle, as black will have a higher probability of hitting your disc.
-If you are in the kitchen and your opponent has a score, you have two options:
Take out the kitchen (good) but you may stick (bad)
Take out the opponent's disc possibly sticking (good), and knock it into your kitchen disc taking that out also (better), possibly sticking it in the kitchen (best)
Therefore the best choice if to take out the opponents scoring disc and deflect it in into your disk in the kitchen.
-Seventh shot:
Do not take out the opponents disc to "keep the board clean" unless it is possible for the opponent to double up. Score behind it instead.
If you have a score, scoring on the opposite side is more probable that blocking your score.
If you can think of any other tips, please add them as comments.
